The NWSL is the top professional women's soccer league in the United States. It kicked off in 2013 and has grown into one of the strongest women's leagues in the world, drawing international stars alongside the core of the US national team.

The league expanded again in 2026 with Boston Legacy FC and Denver Summit FC. The regular season decides the NWSL Shield, and the top teams go on to the playoffs and the NWSL Championship in November.
